The YMCA of Middletown is a community based not for profit organization dedicated to putting Judeo–Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
Our YMCA Association began its service to the City of Middletown in 1882, and over the subsequent 136 years, expanded to serve all of Orange County and Southern Sullivan County. Although our name indicates our historical beginnings at our main branch at 81 Highland Avenue in Middletown, it does not adequately reflect all that we do within a 30-mile radius of our association’s headquarters.
Currently, we operate primarily out of three facilities including our main branch and association headquarters in Middletown known as the YMCA of Middletown, the South Orange Family YMCA (nicknamed “SOFY”) in Monroe, and The Center For Youth Programs in Middletown- the home of our First Step Preschool, our summer day camp in Middletown and many other youth programs.
