What is a Chamber Ribbon Cutting?

Let us celebrate you! We’ll bring our Goshen Chamber personalized blue ribbon and a large pair of scissors to “cut that ribbon” and commemorate this special occasion. This service is free of charge as part of your member benefits. Each business can choose where they’d like to cut their ribbon. The most popular spot is the main entrance, typically near a sign displaying the business name. However, the ribbon can also be placed at another significant location within the business.

What are the benefits of hosting a ribbon cutting?

Everyone deserves celebration, especially those contributing to our local economy by creating jobs and offering services. By hosting a ribbon cutting, you can:

  • Introduce the business community to your establishment.
  • Promote your business within the local community and beyond.
  • Generate potential leads and sales from attendees and those who learn about the ribbon cutting from our website or social media. The objective is to make the event memorable and share it with the community, raising awareness about your business.

How much does a Ribbon Cutting cost?

Cost: FREE

What will the Goshen Chamber do?

The Goshen Chamber of Commerce will:

  • Invite all Chamber members, government officials, and media to your event (Note: The Chamber does not guarantee coverage or attendance by Chamber members, media, or government officials).
  • Post your event on the Chamber website after booking is confirmed with a staff member (please allow one business day for posting).
  • Promote your event on our social media channels and send out an e-blast to over 1,000 subscribers.

A Chamber Ambassador will guide you through the process. We provide the ribbon, scissors, and a Certificate of Recognition. Custom and shareable social media content will be created by our Chamber staff.

How can you ensure your ribbon cutting is a success?

Consider the following for your event:

  • Who will cut the ribbon? Typically, the owners or top executives do the honors, but each business is unique, and you can choose anyone you prefer.
  • What you’d like to share when you speak just before cutting the ribbon.
  • Who will be included in your ribbon cutting photo.
  • Whether to provide refreshments, drinks, door prizes, and decorations. Many businesses include these extras during a public grand opening in conjunction with the ribbon cutting. However, keep in mind that ribbon cuttings typically last only 15 – 30 minutes.

How do I book my ribbon cutting?

Schedule your ribbon cutting by filling out the Ribbon Cutting form and sending it to info@goshennychamber.com. Please book at least three weeks in advance to give attendees ample notice. Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The Chamber schedules ribbon cuttings from Monday to Friday after 5:00 pm.
