The Goshen Historic track is the oldest active harness racing track in the United States, still hosting events to this day! The Heritage Trail is a nearly 20-mile long scenic walking and biking trail that connects Goshen to Chester and Monroe, great for outdoor lovers. Goshen is also close to the Hudson Valley wine region, with plenty of places for wine tasting and craft beer.
Settled in 1714, Goshen has deep historic roots. It’s home to the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, celebrating the town’s legacy in standardbred horse racing. In fact, the Goshen Historic Track is the oldest continually operating horse racing facility in North America, opened in 1838. Additionally, the downtown area has well-preserved historic architecture, with beautiful old buildings and churches.
